Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have a new math curriculum this year! And hopefully, we'll use it for years to come! With this curriculum, second graders use Unifix Cubes (counting cubes) nearly every day to compose and decompose numbers, which paves the way to fluent addition and subtraction. They also have access to the curriculum online for interactive lessons, games, and checkpoint tests. We use a flex seating option in our classroom, and having higher cushion seats to sit at during Chromebook time will be a great choice for learners.

My students need enough unifix cubes for independent work, boxes to store them in for easy access, seating options at their Chromebook tables, and reliable headphones to get their online math learning done!

These tools will carry us through the entire school year, and will be used by second graders in years to come!
