At this time, our world has drastically changed. Our classrooms emptied the first year of the pandemic, and student's switched to online learning. The second year was the year of the masks, every day and all day, but at least we were at the school. Now in the third year, we are all suffering from the mundane daily tasks of wearing masks, cleaning, and social distancing. We need some excitement and I'm ready to boost my teaching in several areas!

My students are my heroes. They show me every day how to be a responsible citizen, especially during this time of strain. My desire is to give my students the opportunity to learn through hands-on activities that include a real butterfly life cycle set, a new listening station, and tons of math tools and science kits to make learning more fun and engaging. Reading, math, and science all need something new and fresh this time of year and I know my students will just be so excited knowing that they earned something really special.

My Project

My adorable first graders are learning to READ! They are decoding words by segmenting sounds, blending them together, and building their awareness of phonics patterns. They would love a listening station where they could listen to wonderful stories (that they wouldn't normally be able to decode)!

My students LOVE to learn about ScIeNcE!!!

Animal life cycles, plants, space and so much more. Our whole day could be science and they would absolutely be thrilled! I made sure to add plenty of science materials for them to explore and enjoy.

We as a class want a magnificent MINDSET on learning. Saying, "I don't know, YET" is a stepping stone to so many incredible learning adventures!

All of my choices are based around a FULL spectrum of learning that is age appropriate and designed to have students engaged and excited about coming to school!

Literacy, Mathematics, Technology and everything STEM, all play a huge role in their day to day learning activities. Games become not just about having fun. They also provide opportunities for critical thinking, communication, and hands-on practice. All these things come together and build them up to be skillful, organized, and successful life-long learners!
