This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Kindergarten students love learning through stories! For most of my students, English is their second language. I need every opportunity to bring language learning into areas like Math and Science so they can develop their English vocabulary. We read stories about every subject in order to connect curriculum to literature. Math and Science can be difficult subjects for many. Encouraging students to fall in love with Math and Science is crucial to their future academic success. This can happen by reading stories!
My students are engaged during story time and they need a space to keep books organized and set so that they can independently practice early literacy skills.
