This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Pre-Kindergarten students come to school to learn many many skills, and one of the best ways for them to learn new skills is through dramatic play. Dramatic play experiences are some of the first ways children learn about their likes and dislikes, their interests, and their abilities. They experiment with role playing and work to make sense out of what they've observed.
Your donation to this project will provide students with a fruit and vegetable stand that will serve to teach both math and science skills through dramatic play experiences.
Students will develop science skills by sorting and organizing fruits and vegetables in this unique market stand. They can explore the science behind the growth of fruits and vegetables and the harvesting process, and then dive into math skills as they price, sell and buy the produce in the stand. The cell phones will be used to take orders, pre package orders to be picked up at a later time, and order more produce for the stand.
