Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach 6th grade gender-based classes in Mathematics and Science. The classes are separated by males and females. I am working at a Title 1 School with 87% free and reduced lunch.
My students have a lot of problems with mastering fractions and probability. I feel that the extra materials will give them a boost by increasing their abilities to move from concrete to abstract thinking.
The materials i have request, such as Dominoes and Plastic Coins, will support the curriculum in area of fractions and probability. These materials will help students with different modalities.
The project is called Math to Go! This project will give the students opportunities to worked in small cooperative groups.
