Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an exceptional mix of students from all backgrounds and income levels. They are driven, hard-working and passionate about school.
Despite a historic pandemic, my students are motivated to excel now to reach their future dreams.
I want them to see how valuable an education is even in the face of adversity. They will be challenged this year in ways no student has ever been before.
Given that many of my students are from low-income families, I want to provide as much support as I can now to protect their futures later. This is essential that they still learn and thrive in spite of a pandemic.
My Project
After seeing the impact of remote learning this past year, it is now more important than ever that students have lessons and classroom experiences that are engaging, interactive and productive overall. As a teacher, the tools and resources I have available will impact the type of lesson I am able to provide.
The math I am able to teach today will undoubtedly shape the lives of my students tomorrow.
With a new laptop, I will be able to not just meet the needs of my students but exceed their needs through effective lesson planning, online support in and out of the classroom, interactive tutoring through zoom (outside of class hours), online assessments, grading and more. Those are just a few of the ways I plan to use this new laptop.
