My students need Addition Fluency Puzzles, Operations and Place Value Activity Centers, various kinds of dice, a Giant Magnetic Rekenrek, a Jumbo Magnetic Ten Frame, a Count and Link game, and counting floor puzzles.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
One of the greatest aspects of our school is the diversity of the student population. The first language of the majority of my first graders is not English. We have students from all over the world. Our school is a Title I school where 100% of the students can eat free breakfast and lunch. My students love to be active while they are learning and they like to work with each other. I learn something new from them every day!
My Project
My students need Addition Fluency Puzzles, Operations and Place Value Activity Centers, various kinds of dice, a Giant Magnetic Rekenrek, a Jumbo Magnetic Ten Frame, a Count and Link game, and counting floor puzzles. My students need games and puzzles that give them opportunities to practice math skills in various ways. Children like playing games with each other. Games and puzzles are an engaging way for kids to practice skills. The students enjoy having fresh, exciting activities to complete with a partner.

First graders learn so many different concepts and skills. It is important for the children to practice these skills throughout the year in order to master them. These materials will be a great addition to our classroom!
