it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I love how my students engage deeply when they see how math applies to real-life issues, especially ones that affect our community. Many of my students are English Learners or have IEPs, and they do best when they can organize their thinking in a consistent and supportive structure.
Next year, I am planning a unit on water consumption, where students will calculate their daily water use, analyze local data, and explore ways to conserve this vital resource.
It’s a powerful way to show how math can help us understand and solve real-world environmental challenges.
These 1-Subject Subject Notebooks will give my students a dedicated space to record their calculations, graph data, and reflect on their learning. They will help students stay organized and engaged as we explore how math connects to climate and environmental issues.
With your support, my students will have the tools they need to build confidence, think critically, and make meaningful connections between math and the world around them.
