it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are a wonderful bunch of kids and I am excited to see them learn all that they can in math this year. It is a wonderful thing to see them light up when they try a problem on their own and get it right even after several tries. We are learning that tools help to make our work easier so I want to make sure that each child has the tools they need.
Please help me to ensure that each student has access to the tools/manipulatives that will help them to become mighty mathematicians.
It is difficult to teach a whole class when everyone doesn't have their own set of manipulatives. So I would like to add more linking cubes, shapes, and number cubes so that each student can have a math kit with all of those things inside. The mini Judy clocks will provide hands on practice with time, which makes a difference for students. When students can choose a tool that they are comfortable with to help them show their thinking, it helps to make the learning more concrete. I look forward to seeing my students develop into mighty mathematicians.
