My Students
Math Matters! Help my second grade math students learn about how important it is to have math knowledge in today's society and world.
My students are a wonderful group of second grade children in a low income district.
They have varying abilities, some with disabilities and some with abilities above and beyond their age. Each of them has an amazing amount of potential that they need help reaching. My students love hands-on activities to help them learn. I am sure if I had these math materials they would be more engaged in their learning.
My Project
The resources will help my students in a number of ways. These math materials, manipulatives, and games will make math come to life. They can have hands-on experiences with materials so they could learn the required math content in an exciting way. My students will be able to learn the math skills of place value, measurement, time, shapes/geometry, and graphs. Most importantly, the students in my math class will learn that math is important.
My students would be so excited to see new materials in the school.
The second grade students would become enlightened, enriched, and engaged in math. Most importantly, my students will learn that math matters!
