My Students
My students love to learn through different modalities. They especially enjoy learning through the use of the arts. They enjoy classroom discussion about topics and building on each other's knowledge as a result of them. They actively help each other solve problems in the area of Mathematics as well as in other subject areas. This year however, has impacted them tremendously. They are in need of extra small group instruction to help them bridge the gap between this year and least year due to time lost with the pandemic. They are a joy to teach and love working in small group to strengthen their math skills.
My Project
My students are in need of math centers that will help give them the needed practice that they need in the basic operations- addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The centers and materials will enable them to solve more problems that involve more than one step. They will also enable them to develop mathematical fluency which will cause them to solve more problems in a shorter amount of time and improve their performance on assessments. The centers are cooperative in nature and can therefore encourage collaboration in the solving of various types of problems.
