Help me give my students resources to learn pre-algebra. Math manipulatives, personal whiteboards, and responses to intervention, plus removing distractions with a cell phone chart with the added incentive to charge, all improve learning.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Please help my 6th-grade students learn math where they take concepts that are foreign and abstract and make them interesting and fun!
Students do so much better when they can play games or use manipulatives to learn abstract concepts in pre-algebra.
We are 100% Title 1 school that serves the most amazing students. Title 1 means we are a school that is part of a federally funded educational program. This program provides supplemental funds to schools with the highest student concentration of poverty to meet school educational goals. We have a fantastic group of students from all walks of life.
My Project
Math matters! Math concepts have changed a little, but more importantly, our students have changed. In order to teach 21st-century learners, educators must find ways to enhance the math lesson, while removing as many distractions as possible.
21st-century learners will use math manipulatives to chart statistical data, learn one-step algebra problems, and respond to warm-ups/do nows with whiteboards for instant feedback.
Please help our students learn math concretely and fun. When students want to learn they learn more. Struggling learners need as much support, and these tools will help both them and the strongest of students. Let's teach 21st-century students with 21st-century tools!
