My Students
Our 2nd-grade classroom is awesome! I have 7 students who are on the Autism Spectrum, and a second 2nd-grade classroom that will also use the materials purchased. My students range from non-verbal to functionally verbal and are at all levels of learning at any given time. They all love to learn, especially reading!
Our school is a mixture of a general education program and an autism program which allows our students the opportunity to be integrated into general education situations as often as possible.
We are a low-income school, servicing a majority of free and reduced-price lunch students.
My Project
My classroom consists of students with autism. Every day they fight hard to learn to read, write, and complete math assignments. We use technology, hands-on learning and more to make math more real to them. Using math technology holds students attention and allows them to focus on the problems, the math kids I am requesting bring hands-on learning right to their desks!
I am requesting math materials like early math activity center and games to increase my abilities to make math more hands-on and meaningful to my students.
My students need to be interested and excited to learn and I believe these materials are a great way to make that happen!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
