This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Mathematics knows no races or geographic boundaries; for mathematics, the cultural world is one country." -David Hilbert
I have twenty-five delightful students that have a love of learning.
They are very passionate about their education and are very focused on their instruction. My students are also very energetic, kinesthetic learners. They work best with hands on materials and working in small groups. My school is a very loving and supportive environment. Just like my classroom my school is very diverse. Our students come from countries all over the world.
My Project
My students will be able to use the mathematics centers to enhance their math skills and support their learning. They will be able to work in small groups with these activities. For example, while I am working with a small group I can have other groups working on skills that have already been taught such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication. These activities will serve as a reinforcement. The mathematics centers will also allow my more advanced students to be able to work independently on more advanced topics. Also, the Multiplication Hot Dots Quiz Cards can be used for students to practice the facts independently or with a partner. They will be able to learn and study in a new, exciting way.
Donations towards this project will allow me to have the resources to make mathematics instruction more engaging for my students.
I hope that it will bring them a love of math. I know they will enjoy working with these materials, which will increase their ability to problem solve and do mathematics.
