My Students
At 35 years old, I returned to school to become a Special Education Teacher. Some may ask why, my response is simple, I wanted to help make a positive impact on someone's life. My students allow my life to have more meaning.
My students are individuals with individualized strengths and needs.
Many of my students come from poverty and are thankful for the stability they find at school. They enjoy learning and benefit from a variety of engaging activities to support them as they work towards their individual goals.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting will be used to reinforce whole group instruction. These math activities will allow my students to practice mathematical skills and develop familiarity with the number system.
Students with special needs need a variety of fun and motivating activities to help them master their goals.
Math games and activities give my students opportunities to deepen their mathematical understanding and reasoning. These activities allow my students to work with partners and larger groups, and this allows students to work on turn taking, listening skills and following directions as well as strengthening their mathematical skills which is essential for them to be successful in the general education curriculum.
