My Students
I am a first year teacher in a third grade class this year! My students were mainly doing school virtually last year, so my students are very excited and energetic now that we are back in person. I have twenty-one students in my class who are diverse in race, socioeconomic status, and in their personalities. Each of my students is so unique and fun and I have loved getting to know them in the first two weeks of school.
My students love to have class discussions, and I have so many active participants already!
I love having discussions in all subjects including math, science, ELA, and even about our class and school rules.
My Project
I have included a variety of manipulatives and games for students to use during class to help make our math lessons more engaging and hands-on for students. Students will be able to understand the value of money, engage in hands-on division, play multiplication dominoes, as well as play a memory match game and manipulate the magnetic tiles. I also included a set of growth mindset materials to hang up and teach to my students. I love showing them so many ways to solve math problems and that it is okay to make mistakes!
