My Students
I work at a Title I school. That means that more than 50% of our families are low income. The families are working hard to provide for their families, but they struggle to make ends meet.
At our Title I schools, we have all day kindergarten.
We have an Oral Language Block time when the students will be able to use these materials. During this block of time, the children can play in different centers like house area and math area. While playing in these areas the can practice communicate skills and math problem solve. These toys will promote the children to practice these skills.
My Project
My kids need a lot of practice counting to learn their numbers. It is easier for them to use toys and art supplies to count and learn numbers than to just count. I'm hoping that the supplies will help motivate them to want to count to know how many. They will be able to use these manipulatives to practice their math skills. They need all the help they can get to learn their numbers. I can teach them about their numbers but they need to be able to practice counting.
More than half of students from low‑income households
