My Project
For many kids, math can be quite abstract. For a lot of students, math concepts in 5th grade can be hard to grasp mentally. In fifth grade we learn multi-digit multiplication and division. We learn place value including decimals. We learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.
My students need math manipulatives to help them grasp difficult math concepts.
My students need place value manipulatives and fraction strips to visualize their learning. Studies have shown that manipulatives help ALL learners be successful. This evidence based approach will help my students prepare for middle school.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
