My Students
5th grade is going to be amazing this fall! My new students are excited for the new year in a new flexible community environment. We will start off the year with 30-32 stellar students who are ready to learn and explore new things, find their voice, and enhance their community experience in the classroom.
A student-centered community environment, creating the best atmosphere for community voice and participation, and providing the right tools is key.
The students in my class are amazed at the great opportunity they will have this year in my Disney themed classroom, to have a student centered learning experiences, with a lot of hands on activities, being part of and understanding of a functioning community. With my style of teaching, I try very hard to help the students work through ideas and strategies outside of just textbooks and worksheets. This focus with the students help engage them to have fun while learning new things.
So, hats off to my new class! It's going to be an adventurous learning year filled with lots of teaching moments with life connections in all subjects. Did I mention they are amazing? Thought so!
My Project
Our class is working on adding math manipulatives and other support to further expand their understanding and knowledge of math through application. The variety of resources I can give the students will help find multiple ways to apply their new strategies and skills in a new way, including how to apply what they know into real world connections. The more applications, the better success they will be in finding the joy in math all around them. Thank you in advance for helping out our class and each student success through math.
