This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students with disabilities have a much more difficult time grasping concepts than their same age peers. Due to this, many of my high school students continue to need the added support of manipulatives for abstract concepts such as making sense of fractions.
With the support of these manipulatives my students will build understanding of these abstract concepts allowing them to access the same curriculum as their same age peers.
The magnetic fraction tiles will allow me to model their use as well as problems visually on the board. This joined with the support of tiles at their desks will allow ease of solving difficult problems and build their math skills at the same time.
