My Students
My students attend an elementary school in the hills of Richmond, California. My class is very diverse academically, socially, and economically. My students come to school eager to learn. Our school has a strong sense of community. "It takes a village to raise a child!"
My students love learning new concepts.
They get a kick out of explaining their answers and using manipulatives to prove their work. This makes them special. Their ability to work together is like no other.
My Project
Did you struggle regrouping in addition or subtraction? Well my students do. Several of my students struggle comprehending when and how to regroup. With the correct math manipulatives in their hands, they will be able to see when and why they have to regroup.
With the regrouping kits, the students will physically have to remove a place value chip and regroup it in the next place value.
They will know how and be able to explain when regrouping is needed. The manipulatives can be used for all four operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Students will learn to love it!
