it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a special education teacher working with incredible students on the autism spectrum in an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) classroom. My students have diverse needs and thrive when they can engage in hands-on, interactive learning. I aim to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment by incorporating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) centers with math manipulatives that cater to my students' unique learning styles.
My students have various learning preferences and often benefit from tactile and visual learning tools; manipulatives help them grasp abstract mathematical concepts more concretely, making learning both effective and fun.
To enhance our STEM centers, I am requesting a variety of math manipulatives that will engage my students and help them build foundational math skills. The materials I am requesting include:
LEGOS are fantastic for developing spatial awareness, fine motor skills, and problem-solving abilities. We will use them for counting, building patterns, understanding symmetry, and even basic arithmetic operations.
Counting blocks will help my students learn to count, recognize numbers, and perform basic math operations such as addition and subtraction in a hands-on way.
Play money will help my students will learn essential life skills, such as recognizing coins and bills, making change, and understanding the value of money, which are crucial for their future independence.
With your help, my students will have the tools they need to explore math concepts in a way that is meaningful to them. These manipulatives will not only support their academic growth but also help build confidence and a love for learning.
