This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Thank you so much for taking a look at my DonorsChoose project! This project includes manipulatives working with shapes, numbers, number bonds, adding and subtracting, finding quantities etc. that students will use to dive in deeper with the pre-K math standards.
For the shapes center activities, students will use pictures of real-life objects to find shapes in their own world, as well as get to build the shapes themselves.
The number bonds activity will help students strengthen number identification, quantity identification, and skills in adding numbers together within 10. The marker dotters will be used throughout the year for students to learn to trace both numbers, letters and their own name.
My goal for this project is for at least one manipulative to be used at minimum of a weekly basis, as each of the center activities falls under a specific state standard covered within the school year.
My students are in need specifically of these tools and manipulatives, as 100% of them come from impoverished homes in the city of Cleveland, OH. Any help I can receive financially is so appreciated, and helps not only the students, but the families they come from. With the necessary and proper tools, I can ensure all students will receive a quality education that can carry them into adulthood.
