Math Manipulatives for Higher Engagement and Understanding

My Project

Math manipulatives are shown to help students understand math concepts that are often very abstract when only experienced on paper. Third grade is full of concepts that can be better understood by physically using tools and visually interpreting concepts. These manipulatives will help guide my students towards better understanding of multi-digit addition and subtraction because they will be able to see regrouping happening. There are also fraction manipulatives so students can visualize equivalent fractions and how wholes are divided. I can use these to help in my small group interventions with students that are struggling to help them catch up to their peers and meet the goals of the grade level.
