it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom consists of low-income students who struggle to perform at their academic grade level. In my classroom, it is my hope that I can teach my students strategies and skills that they can use to succeed. I hope to teach them to always dream big.
I believe that all my students are capable of learning anything as long as they are provided with the proper tools and strategies to succeed.
Mastering math objectives involve lots of practice but sometimes learning new skills can be challenging for some students. Oftentimes, learning new skills involves daily repetition and practice with manipulatives in a whole group and small group setting.
The items that we are requesting, are to help us practice new math objectives and skills. The magnetic shelves and rod will help me to display manipulates and anchor charts. The area rug and bean bag chair will allow us to have a math corner with flexible seating where we can sit the whole group to go over new concepts and skills. The nameplate sleeves will allow students to have their nameplate which will include a number line and math facts stored on their desk. The clear peg board organizer bins will allow me to sort and store math manipulatives. The wireless air mouse will be used during a lesson when presenting new skills. The table spots and erasers will be used for small group work during math instructional time.
