My Project
I am requesting math manipulatives and hands-on resources to improve math instruction. I am asking for Playdoh so that students can explore fractions and shapes. I included playing cards and a book of math games that can be played using playing cards. The use of manipulatives allows students to explore math concepts in a hands-on manner. The manipulatives such as the centimeter cubes, unifix cubes, and fraction bars will be used for students to gain a better understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The use of pattern blocks will support students during the geometry unit. The coordinate grid whiteboards will be used during our measurement unit. The use of hands-on materials will support students in their number sense and fluency, which helps create math students who can think flexibly. Developing a strong math foundation will support students throughout their schooling careers. This project aims to get more materials into my students' hands to support their math learning.
