My Students

My students are amazing and energetic second graders who make our classroom a bright and cheerful place to be every day. They put their hearts and souls into all the work they do. I would like to be able to get some hands-on math manipulative to help enrage them and teach to their different learning styles.

My students are energetic and excited learners who have to overcome some astounding obstacles in their home lives, but who still show me their thirst for knowledge every day.

They deserve to have all they need to help them learn.

My Project

Imagine you are a child sitting in a math class learning how to add 2 digit numbers. You see the numbers lined up on the board, but you don't understand why the ones are being carried. You put your head down, ready to give up. Your teacher comes over and notices you struggling. She leaves and comes back a minute later with someplace value blocks. She lays them out and shows you how the blocks work and how many can be in each section. As you watch and move the manipulatives, place vale starts to make sense to you. You feel like you are understanding and are excited again to continue math. These math manipulatives I am asking for will allow math to become hands-on in my classroom and allow my students to feel successful.
