My Students
In the short time, we've gotten to know each other, my class has quickly become a community always looking out for one another and cheering each other on.
I have the privilege of teaching and enriching 32 of the most hardworking, passionate and sharp second graders.
They are filled with energy and a desire for learning every moment they are in school. Many of my students have come from different countries. 19 of my 32 students are also learning English as a new language. Overall, I have a very diverse group of students with different abilities, all sharing the same enthusiasm for learning.
My Project
In second grade we cover a wide variety of real world mathematical concepts- addition, subtraction, money, time, measurement, shapes etc. These are skills students will use throughout their lives and have to be comfortable with.
In order to make math exciting and engaging, it's so important for me to allow my students to emerge in fun math games and centers that draw them in.
This will allow students to practice daily use mathematical skills and also feel engaged in the learning process. Help me create a fun math environment for my second graders in which they are encouraged to learn!
