My Students
As a teacher in a school that serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through third grade with different learning styles and levels, it is difficult to actively engage all students. I teach 19 second grade students who are eager to learn new skills and practice them until they are infused into their brains.
The students in my class are excited to accept new challenges with vigor and strive to be the best they can be.
My students love to practice new skills using engaging books and materials. With the assistance of these positive and meaningful learning experiences, students will strive to reach academic excellence and goals.
My Project
These eager children are always looking for ways to explore the different mathematical concepts that are presented to them as second grade students. The more opportunities that a child has to actively practice math skills, the more likely he/she is to remember the skill being taught. Therefore, these second grade students need more math games to explore math concepts.
The much needed mathematical materials I am requesting will allow each and every student a chance to participate in fun and engaging math games during class.
My students love to play games with partners. They enjoy the games so much that they do not even realize that they are learning. The new materials purchased will be used every day during out math block in the classroom. Second graders are very excited to play math games and practice necessary math skills if they are given the opportunity and resources that they need in order to develop these skills that are so very important.
Your help will ensure that my students develop a love for learning and will help them make the connections that makes math a meaningful and positive experience, allowing them to build on skills acquired in the second grade throughout the rest of their life.
