My Students

My students never cease to amaze me! Coming out of a pandemic, NEVER being in school, they are absolute ROCKSTARS!!! During the pandemic, my students learned from home or a very chaotic learning pod. Many of my first graders have been in homes where they had to babysit, complete chores or had little to no help during their kindergarten year.

Never experiencing school at all, they came in our classroom and are DOMINATING anything thrown their way!

They are behind academically and have zero idea of how to behave in a school setting, but they are catching up at alarming rates! Being proud is an understatement of their achievements this far.

My Project

Right now, my students use blank desk size white boards to practice their math on. I've noticed so much time being wasted because they draw the number bond boxes and lines for the number sentence rather than focus on the actual math they need to learn.

Using the answer boards that already have the boxes and lines on them will allow students to focus more on the actual task rather than drawing the boxes and lines for each problem.

I'll also be able to provide more guidance to those that need it by using the magnetic counters that come along with the answer boards.
