My Project

I am a 3rd grade special education teacher in Jersey City, NJ. More than half of the students in my school get free or reduced-price lunch. My school embraces a school motto that emphasizes "Respect, Accepting Others, Caring, and Excelling" in all areas. My classroom is "home" to a racially, culturally, and ethnically diverse group of amazing youngsters. I am proud to be their teacher and treat this as a privilege. It is my mission to create projects that will help me enrich the learning experience for my students.

My students LOVE practicing their math skills during game-based play.

Having the ability to pick a board game (bingo, math games) during independent practice time is empowering. Not only do the children build math skills, but they also practice responsibility, decision-making skills and teamwork.
