My Project
I teach at a Title I school, and our students' emotional and academic development continues to be impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. My goal is to provide them with engaging math manipulatives that will make a significant impact on both aspects. These hands-on tools will bridge the gaps created by interrupted learning and boost their sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. They will also allow my students to explore mathematical concepts in a tangible way, which will ignite their curiosity and deepen their understanding. These manipulatives will not only address the social and emotional aspects of my students' growth but also build resilience, improve their self-esteem, and enhance their overall well-being. By providing these manipulatives, our students can be set on a path to growth and success despite the challenges they have faced.
