Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a first year teacher excited to welcome in a group of 4th graders! However, with all of the new research-backed math teaching skills I have acquired during my teaching credential program, I have limited resources to teach them with. Children understand on a deeper level when they are able to touch and manipulate the materials they are learning with.
These math materials will be used by many for years to come!
The cuisenaire rods will help my students to better understand fractions and the base ten blocks will help my students understand place value. The post-it tablets will be used in number talks and will assist in providing my students with the numerous problem solving methods that are used by their fellow classmates. The stools will provide my students with the ability to sit straight and alert during our number talk lessons.
