it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Hi! I teach 27 first graders at an all girls charter school in the South Bronx. Due to the current shutdown of our school, my students are at home receiving live instruction from me. They all have a tablet that was given to them by the school and some of my kids have a computer. Otherwise, my students would not have the adequate technology and supplies for learning at home. I have had to send them supplies and work packets through snail mail throughout these last two months.
My Project
My classroom is not equipped with all the necessary math materials that we need to make math an engaging and hands-on experience for my students. I am asking for materials that we will be using all year to help learn all the standards. With distance learning, I need to ensure that my students have the necessary materials at home to have success with the lessons being taught virtually. These manipulatives will give them hands on materials for practice with money, fractions and place value. The kits are already individualized which makes things much easier for mailing to students. Your donation will help ensure that my students still have access to what they need for academic success during what will be a very challenging school year. Thank you!
