My Students
Eager to learn and succeed... this statement sums up my class. Located in Riverdale, GA, a low-income area in Clayton County, my scholars face many issues and challenges before arriving at school. When they enter my classroom, they feel safe, secure, and welcomed. Their bright faces light up to see a classroom that is encouraging them to always put their best foot forward. Once arriving at school, my scholars know there are no excuses for failure because they were born to succeed.
My Project
Math Literature can help build an intangible perception of math skills through illustrations, as well as help students build problem-solving skills. In addition to that, math literature can provide a meaningful context for mathematical content, while reviewing a mathematics concept or specific skill. According to research, using children’s literature in math lessons can enhance learning in many ways. In my classroom, math literature will bridge the connection between Math and Literacy.
I am requesting several books that teach math concepts in a story format.
These materials will make a difference in the student's lives by Providing a meaningful context for mathematical content and reviewing a mathematics concept or specific skill. In addition, it will help promote the development of number sense and promote critical thinking. Lastly, it will increase the level of interest for Math among my students.
