Math & Literacy Integration

My students need 45 math-themed books to support a literacy connection within the classroom. Books include "If You Were a Pound or a Kilogram," "Grapes of Math," and "Full House: An Invitation to Fractions."

My Students

When you can connect literacy with other content areas, it is powerful. My students will benefit tremendously from the combination of math and literacy.

My students are eager to learn.

They are like little sponges ready to absorb all and any material presented to them. This is why I want to submerge them with educational material in the most creative way possible. Nonfiction reading material will increase intelligence in many ways.

My Project

In creating an environment of rich literature, my students will foster a love of reading in math. I want to expose them to math in literature that they can connect with daily. This will allow me a creative way to introduce concepts to them. They will foster a love of reading in math.

My students will benefit tremendously from the incorporation of literature and math.

To see the math concepts taught on a daily basis incorporated into literature is a powerful tool. Nonfiction reading material in the content area is POWERFUL for all learners of this age.
