My Students
A preschool child's knowledge of mathematics predicts their later school success.
My preschool students are from economically disadvantaged homes.
Many of my students are English Language Learners. Most of my students began preschool without number sense. They could not count or recognize numbers. However, they are little sponges. They love to learn and they love all kinds of math games.
My Project
Lakeshore learning kits are beautifully designed and very kid friendly. Using these center activities my students will have lots of "hands-on" practice with counting and using numbers. Manipulatives are very important for preschool children's development.
The academic success of these students begins now.
They deserve a chance to gain as much number sense as possible in preschool to strengthen their success in math as they move into kindergarten.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
