Math, LA, and Sensory for Special Needs

Help me give my students weighted lap animals, water beads and animals for the sensory tub, dough cards for feelings, counting, and shapes, math and language arts centers, and design your own car for our transportation unit.

My Students

I have the most amazing and wonderful special education severe and profound class. My students come from very low income families. Many of my students live in government housing and the only meals they have are the free breakfast and lunch they receive at school. My students come to school in dirty clothes, clothes that don't fit, or what they wore the day before.

My students come to school every day excited to learn reading, math, and life skills.

They are like sponges and I want to provide them with all the tools they will need to be successful.

My Project

I have students from K-5 grade on a variety of levels. The math and language arts centers and activities with allow my paras and I to work with students one on one or with a small group. The dough mats will help the students to work on their fine motor skills while also working on their feelings, shapes, and counting. The design your own car is for our transportation unit in the fall so each student can paint their own car. The weighted animals are to help calm students when agitated or restless. The water beads and animals are for the sensory tub. The stepping balance buckets are to help my students with their gross motor skills.
