This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have 26 kindergarten students who are so incredibly full of life. They come in every day eager to learn. They are the most deserving students. They are incredibly sweet and always thinking of others.
My students have a love of learning like no other.
It amazes me to see the joy on their faces when I introduce new things. No matter what I teach, they love to go home and tell their parents all about it! They often get excited by sometimes the littlest things. It's the little things that matter in a kindergarten world.
My Project
My students are in need of math kits. Kits that are filled with items such as dice, coins, money. These are all things/topics that we cover in Kindergarten. I'd love for my students to have boxes that they can explore when they have a few extra minutes.
Students grow from exploring.
I want each of my students to have their own kits. By allowing them to have their own kits, it gives them the opportunity to explore them any free time they have. My students all love to learn, and especially love Math. When I had kits in my classroom, I really saw a growth. Unfortunately my kits got lost during transition on a new classroom. I would love to make new ones!
