This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work in an urban school and service scholars with various needs. The population of my scholars consist of 94% Hispanic and 42% English Language Learners. About 97% are economically disadvantaged. My scholars are hard-workers and would benefit from the independence that technology would allow them to have.
The absolute joy I see on the faces of my scholars when they accomplish something is amazing.
They will be entering Middle School next year and I want them to go with the best possible preparation.
My Project
Scholars will be using the Chromebooks daily in math centers. They will be able to have access to a multitude of resources that they would not have otherwise. Participating in STEM projects, engaging in math games, and accessing practice sites such as IXL are just some of the things they will be able to do.
Having this technology will allow my scholars to access information that they may only have limited access to outside of school.
My scholars will be moving on to Middle School next year and I want to ensure that they are as prepared as possible to enter the technology driven world they are entering.
