This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We will utilize a variety of math manipulatives and materials to create an engaging and effective learning environment. These math manipulatives will allow students to tell the time, measure, add and subtract with regrouping accurately through hands-on activities.

Math manipulatives play a crucial role in 1st graders' math education by providing concrete representations, supporting hands-on learning, accommodating diverse learning styles, encouraging problem-solving, establishing real-world connections, and making math relatable and engaging.

By incorporating these tools into the learning process, educators can create a supportive and effective math learning environment that empowers students to excel in their mathematical journey.
