Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am an ESL teacher that is need of some new materials to help my students count and sort.
Math is a particular challenge with my students.
They have had relatively poor achievement on standardized tests in the past, and I am making a concerted effort to increase their access to fun math activities to turn that trend around. The counters make math concepts easy to grasp . . . with hundreds of kid-pleasing objects for students to count, compare and sort! The students can use the counters to count and also do math facts.
My Project
I try to instill the love of education, the wonder of learning, and to dream BIG. You can help to give them the self-confidence needed to effectively count and advance to first grade. With your help all of my kindergartners will be star mathematicians! You will provide the motivation needed for all students to try their best.
Kindergartners need many hands-on, concrete activities to learn necessary skills.
One important math skill is number sense. Kindergartners must learn their numbers and, more importantly, what these numbers mean. They need many opportunities to touch and count objects.
