My students need two Talking Hot Dots Pen Sets and 7 Hot Dots Math Flash Card: Telling Time, Subtraction, Division, Fractions, Money, and Multiplication.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Math is fun and awesome! But did you ever fear math? We have too many students who fear math. I want that fear turned into fun! I love math, and I want the same sentiment experienced in my classroom!
My students are smart, driven, and very verbal.
They are 95% Hispanic and 5% African American. Most of them do not have a computer or other technology at home. Our school provides a safe environment away from gangs and other socioeconomic limitations. They are exposed to violence and socioeconomic limitations, like lack of food. Food is a resource that others take for granted.
In my classroom, they get to dream because the sky is the limit. They've planned future traveling plans, designed their dream homes, and have become celebrated community heroes. The classroom is a safe haven where dreaming high is encouraged. Nothing is impossible when they dream, write, and share their future plans. They will thrive as enthusiastic learners if they are provided with the memories that will last a lifetime. They will experience and recollect their memories in a whole new way.
My Project
Math is fun and awesome. Math can be so much more than just numbers! A lot of students are scared and struggle due to fear. It doesn't have to be a challenging subject, especially when games and hands-on lessons are provided for our little ones. I want my students to enjoy math while learning at the same time. Students learn best when they get their hands on manipulatives and get to solve problems on their own. Math manipulatives are one way for students to learn math in a fun way through hands-on lessons!
I have requested math manipulatives such as Educational Insights Hot Dots Math Flash Cards Division, Hot Dots Telling Time, Hot Dots Subtraction, Hot Dots Money, Hot Dots Multiplication, and Hot Dots Fractions. All of these supplies will enhance math skills while students are having fun! The Hot Dots material will be available at a Math Center for my students to practice and review learned skills.
My students have creative minds and just need extra assistance to get into math and loving it.
Your donations will allow my students to practice the math skills they need to become great students and help them become successful as they advance through school and life.
