My Project

I am the Math Strategist for a Title 1 elementary school. This is a newly created position for my school. I see students in Kindergarten through 5th grade to support them in their mastery of math skills.

Almost all of the students at my school come from low-income households.

As a school, we have a large amount of students who are not meeting standards and passing the state tests.

I work with small groups of students to help them master math standards. I will use the materials to support our work together. Because this is a newly created position and I am also new to the school, I need the basic supplies, such as headphones and dry erase boards for classroom work. Instead of having students come to my room for group work with supplies/toolkits from their own classes, these new supplies will allow us a smooth transition between home room and my group room so we can use our time together more efficiently.
