Help me give my students opportunities to think about math and its connections to the real world with STEAM park, magnetic calendar, write wipe boards, and geometric shapes.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 1st grade students need to learn about 3D shapes and how to recognize them.
These materials will help me provide lessons that are more fun and interactive so that they learn about 3D shapes while actually using 3D shapes.
I want to teach them about 3D shapes as they create things themselves and we analyze what types of shapes they used and why. Students love to use their hands and its the best way for them to learn!
They also need to learn about patterns and a calendar is a great way to teach them about patterns while they are also learning about the days of the week and the months.
