This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an amazing group of 6th grade math students with a wide range of learning needs and styles. Some of my students are visual learners who need to see math come to life. Others thrive when they can use their hands to build, manipulate, and explore concepts. No matter their background, they are eager, curious, and determined to succeed.

To help meet the diverse needs of my students, I am requesting hands-on and visual math resources — such as manipulatives, fraction tiles, dry erase markers, magnets, guided notes activities and visual learning tools.

These materials will help turn abstract math concepts into concrete, understandable lessons.

With these tools, students will be able to explore fractions, decimals, and percentages by building and comparing, understand geometry through 3D shapes and models, strengthen problem-solving with interactive games and challenges, and boost their confidence by seeing and touching the math they’re learning.

Many of my students struggle with traditional, textbook-based lessons. They benefit most when they can interact with math in visual, tactile ways that match their learning styles. By providing these resources, you’re helping create a classroom where every learner has the tools they need to succeed.
