My students need 6 Google Nexus tablets for our technology center. We do a lot of collaborative learning, using centers weekly. 24 students per class currently share 1 computer.

My Students
Math....most people hear that word and cringe. I strive to make Math a fun and engaging subject for my students. Many foundation mathematical concepts are taught by 6th grade. If a student does not have a strong base leaving 6th grade they are more likely to struggle with Math the rest of their life.
I have 90 vibrant middle school students!
Our students are primarily lower-middle economic status. We have students from a variety of family structures including but not limited to single parent homes, foster care, same gender parents, bilingual homes, and even grandparents raising their grandchildren.
My goal is to ensure that all of my students have the resources they need to be proficient or advanced on state testing while teaching essential life lessons along the way.
My Project
Students will be using the tablets to work on math in a variety of manners. Ranging from math websites, watching and commenting on lessons, study questions, review games, as well as creating and designing math problems. All while making real world connections, realizing the relationship of the mathematical concepts they are learning and its usefulness in everyday life.
Technology is a major asset in targeted individualized learning.
There are several math sites that are created to minimize gaps in student learning through differentiated instruction. There is limited access to technology in our school. Help my students close those gaps by providing needed technology and making math fun and exciting for them!
