My Students
My students are my babies. I teach kindergarten at a school that is considered a Title I school where 80% of my students are on free lunch. I even have a student that is homeless at this time. Considering their conditions, my students are always striving for excellence. They are hard workers and very eager to learn.
Our classroom is a safe place for many of my students.
Many come in tired and sleepy. Some even come in hungry. In spite of all of that they still give me 100% and then some. They want to learn and our home away from home is a safe and caring place where they can be the best that they can be.
My Project
Many time we are so focused on developing a love for literacy that we tend to forget about developing a love for MATH. Math can be enjoyable once again with the use of math learning centers, listening activities, and using various manipulatives. From using counting rubbing plates, self inking stamps to building shapes with geo boards, and many other activities. They will all help to foster a child's love for math. It's time that the love of math is brought back to the lives of children. Not in the traditional way, but in a fun hands on using manipulatives exciting way.
