This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ESL students need visual learning tools. We practice math problems one and one. I use my dry erase board and they have a lap board. We do not have enough markers/boards and the students have to share. My dry erase board is cumbersome to keep pulling out and it is stained. Please help!

I teach at a low income public school in a south suburb in Illinois.

The students like hands on learning. They are not used to having very many extra supplies on hand. We make our own folders out of construction paper. I recycle paper as much as I can.

My Project

Good supplies will motivate the students. Math is a tough subject any visuals they can use will be a tremendous help. The donation will help my students because they will be able to practice their math skills one on one with the teacher. They will be able to work and change their answers without too much work. I think this would inspire them to think and change answers. This would not only work for Math, but with Reading and Writing as well.

This project is so important to me because I think the students do get some benefit from using the dry erase boards.

They are more involved and are eager to show me their work. It is also good for them to have supplies to use to make their day easier that our school unfortunately does not have the funds for.
