Help me give my students visualize math concepts using hands-on materials and manipulatives.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hunter's classroom raised $432

My Project
My students have learning disabilities which make learning math concepts challenging. They struggle with connecting the procedures, language, and symbols necessary to be successful. Students need many repeated experiences and many varieties of concrete materials to build these connections. Concrete materials can build these connections by allowing students to physically move and separate groups.
Research shows that students who use concrete materials develop more precise and more comprehensive mental representations.
They are more motivated and are are more likely to demonstrate on-task behavior. Most importantly, they may better understand mathematical ideas, and may better apply these to life situations.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
